Disastrous Arch Linux and KDE Plasma 6.8 Update

ONLY UPDATE INSIDE A TTY!!!

I just updated to plasma 6.8 while I was inside the X11 session. The X11 session is gone in the new version. This caused my entire login session to terminate during the update.

My PC couldn't boot anymore because the Kernel, LTS Kernel and fallback images from /boot were gone. Pacman was terminated midway. I even ran it inside a tmux session but that didn't help.

what's up with #yakuake lately? It won't show up on all workspaces, but only on the workspace it was first opened on. Is there a fix for it?

Still playing osu! with ar11 random mirror mods.

Unlike most "gamers", I use 1366x768 60 Hz VGA monitor, btw. Never managed to buy some modern monitor with modern res cos monehhh, plus it still works.

I bought the main one with my own money and the second monitor, I just got it from my old workplace, lol.

Oh I also stopped using KDE. Wayland gets in the fucking way of me having fun when I have AR11, HP11, and OD11 set on osu!. The latency is noticeable. Feels like my mousepad is "well-oiled" when I'm in X11, Still love KDE tho but yeah..

I guess I'll relegate this account into my solutions dump, like a scratch paper, so uhh starting now, I've found that sometimes the "portal" for selecting a window for screen sharing doesn't pop up on KDE sometimes when I'm using OBS

Running "systemctl --user restart pipewire.socket xdg-desktop-portal.service" fixes it. I use Arch, btw.

I might investigate this problem when it pops up again cos it happens randomly...

honestly whats the current update on the #archlinux #aur malware attack? is it safe already to perform updates or

Uuurgh... why does everything run like crap on #wayland? Or rather #kde on #wayland.
I never had any major performance problems on #xfce and #x11. Here kwin_wayland keeps using at least 20% or often 40% CPU. Chromium even hogs all the CPU time it can get when open.
Firefox only runs well through XWayland.
Who said wayland is stable? #archlinux #ThinkPadX260
(Also.. suggestions are appreciated. I already tried looking up my sympoms online)
