I'm in a somewhat awkward position - but since it's about security, and the only way to (hopefully) reach all Sharkey admins and bring this to their attention is by making a public post, I'll do just that.

You probably know that Sharkey is now based on a Misskey version that is 18 months old - falling behind is very understandable, especially for a long standing fork. But since almost 500 fediverse servers are running on Sharkey (495 according to fedidb), at least security releases are essential.

So I have to let you know that we have now notified the Sharkey devs twice about several upstream vulnerabilities we found (and fixed) in Catodon, with the first time being over a month ago. The latest stable Sharkey release was almost 5 months ago, which means they have yet to be patched in a stable release. In the meantime Misskey has also released security fixes, which have also not landed in a stable release yet.

This is not an attack on Sharkey, I hope this comes as a wakeup call, because Sharkey has truly been a great platform. But the hundreds of Sharkey admins (and users) should know about the unpatched vulnerabilities the software currently carries.

雖然找不到明確的討論，但是 #Misskey 的貼文預設不顯示回覆，是為了應對前幾年 misskey.io 因為商業社群網站的跳船潮對資料庫造成的壓力所作的改變。

這種作法也有額外的好處，預設不顯示回覆可以減少筆戰，最明顯的例子就是在主流社群網站中，系統非常喜歡把「爭議性高、吵成一團」的回覆直接塞在貼文下方，因為憤怒和爭吵能帶來極高的點閱率與黏著度。

而日本人較少回覆，通常是用反應（Reaction）代替。Misskey 強大的自訂表情符號（Emoji Reactions）功能，簡直是為了這種心理量身打造的。想表達「太草了（很好笑）」、「辛苦了」或單純「朕知道了（眼睛符號）」，只要點一下就好。既完成了社交互動、表達了關心，又不需要負擔對話的責任，雙方都不會覺得累。

不過對於外國人來說，用起來就很不習慣，會覺得是不是沒人，或者是很難看到更多內容。

Misskey这个中文界面翻译也是长期有个乱七八糟的地方就是这个ミュート（Mute）和ブロック（Block），在目前的Misskey里两个都被翻译成了“屏蔽”（如P1），但其实官方文档里对这两个功能的描述是这样的：

如果有不喜欢的用户，可以通过ミュート使该用户从自己的视野中消失。 另外，作为更强力的措施，通过ブロック可以使该用户无法看到自己的内容，并且无法与自己互动。 对方不会察觉到自己被ミュート了，但会知道自己被ブロック了。

也就是说这个Block也和推特之类的Block并不一样，经过测试，对用户进行Block操作，并不会使对方的内容消失在自己的时间线上，所以我认为这个ブロック不管翻译为“拉黑”还是“屏蔽”都是不对的，会让用户产生疑问：“为什么我都屏蔽对方了，对方还出现在我的时间线上？”

我支持保持原有的让对方在自己时间线上消失的“ミュート”为“屏蔽”，而禁止对方与我互动（但并不会让对方在我的时间线上消失！）的“ブロック”为“禁止对方与我互动”（P2），如果你也觉得这样在使用上更易理解，欢迎去Crowdin给这一条翻译投下支持票
