Hello everyone! First post here. Sharing my experience getting back to X11 after upgrading from KDE Plasma 6.8 to SonicDE 6.8 stable on EndeavourOS. The upgrade itself was smooth.EndeavourOS
#KDE Plasma 6.8 is going #Wayland-only in a few days, so we forked it for you:
#SonicDE, pure #X11, a home for your KDE and Qt6 native apps.
Currently at about 140 components on 6.7.5, soon on 6.8 too. Find the packages for your distribution at sonicde.org

SonicDE and XLibre. Two great projects I recommend.

We forked the #KDE Plasma Login Manager. It now runs on #X11, drops privileges after init, and supports #systemd-free too. We tested it on Artix Linux with OpenRC, CachyOS with systemd, and on the #FreeBSD-based GhostBSD. #SonicDE sonic-login-manager

For my shop machine, I'm now actively testing Debian 14 Testing w/ Xlibre and SonicDE. So far, so good. I use this machine for client work and it also gets to be my guinea pig for testing drawing tablet workflows. Both native Xlibre (via wacom) and Gaomon's proprietary driver work. I'm impressed with how snappy SonicDE is - first time using it today. Great work folks‼️
